But for all the well-chronicled bias and distortions, as a longtime observer of conservative media I've never before felt that it existed in an entirely distinct reality. Where there used to be an ideological agenda driving commentary on a shared, nominally objective world, a lot of conservative media now feels like it is simply of another world entirely.
It shouldn't be that complicated. The President just fired the director of the FBI, who was conducting an investigation into ties between the President and a foreign adversary. No matter where you stand on the question of Trump's ties to Russia, it is now screamingly obvious that an independent investigation is necessary.
